Dell 2.8GHz Pentium4 XPH Tower Computer (Refurb)

This was an excellent purchase, I would recommend this site to anyone wanting a computer to go to Overstock and check out their products first before making a decision on a computer. I have made some terrific purchases throught Overstock.com. Thank you Overstock.

I was so pleased to find another DELL (my 4th) that had a FLOPPY DISK and Windows XP. When the computer arrived, the face plate was NOT attached because it was NOT the RIGHT one for the model I received. And the MOUSE was BROKEN, so I did have to purchase a new mouse. Other than those 2 things, I am pleased and would recommend this to other customers.

Good solid computer. Could use additional support from OS such as manuals.

I purchased this as a supplement to the 8 other GX270's we run in the Company I work for. It lit right off, on the first stab of the power button, no problem. The 512 K RAM is on the lean side by todays standards, along with the 40Gb HDD, but is adaquet for the business purpose I bought it for. Also not designed for gaming, with the Intel integrated video, this machine came pre loaded with Windows XP Home (SP2). The 2.8 ghz PlV processor takes most chores in stride. Load MS Office and a photo editing program on it, and this makes a decent back "back to school" or dorm computer. This machine has a "clamshell" opening case for easy access, and with RAM and HDD prices so low, upgrading this along with the low initial purchase price, only makes sense. Another positive is that only the OS was loaded on the machine; no "trialware" (trial versions of software that do nothing but take up space and slow a machine down, IMO)

I bought this for my sister whose computer died. She reports that it is working very well. She is not a sophisticated user but still that speaks to this tower's ease of use. I wondered if it really weighs 30 pounds as cited in the specs. She reports that it is indeed heavy.
