The AHA-2940UW Dual PCI-to-Ultra SCSI host adapters integrate two processors on a single chip: one dedicated to internal SCSI devices and one dedicated to external SCSI devices. This unique dual-processor architecture adds up to multiple advantages: double the peak throughput between SCSI peripherals and the PCI bus; double the maximum peripheral connections; simultaneous use of all three board connectors; twice the cable length for more configuration flexibility; and improved ease-of-use.The AHA-2940UW Dual host adapters feature two independent 20 MIPS RISC processors that regulate high-speed data transfer over the Ultra SCSI bus. By dedicating separate processors to external and internal devices, these host adapters effectively double the maximum throughput. The AHA-2940UW Dual/NE host adapter delivers data transfer rates up to 40 MByte/sec for internal devices plus 20 MByte/sec for external devices.
