We bought this item because our computer was S-L-O-W...our old hard drive was about to go dead!
My husband installed this one, and I put all the software back in. Be aware that there is NO INSTRUCTIONS OR PAPERWORK..OR SOFTWARE OF ANY KIND (you will need a Windows software disc etc..)with this item...So if you don't know what you are doing, it may be a challenge for you! But after installation, my computer is faster than it ever was!~!

This is a good hard drive, and pretty cheap. I wanted to use it to get an old broken computer back up and running, but I didn't want to spend very much money.
Installation was a breeze, although I will warn you that this drive came with no documentation and no boot disk.
